Are Alaska Saltwater Lodge (Seward), Denali Hostel (Healy-- apartments) good places to stay?

We're trying to finalize our itenerary for an Alaskan vacation and have basically decided on staying three nights at or around Denali National Park and three nights in Seward. I think we can do everything we want to do with those as bases. But here's the rub. We're not sure which places are best for us for lodging purposes. We have a couple of ideas and want some opinions. Please help.

Spending three nights in Seward, we want to know any opinions on the Alaska Saltwater Lodge. It has everything we want (private bath, telephone, etc.-- private bath is most important). Also, how good is the wildlife, whale-watching and glacier tours offered by this lodge (they are supposed to be low in numbers, around 15 or so per trip)? Let us know what you think of this as soon as possible.

Staying just outside of Denali National Park is not a problem. We want to know what you guys think of what is called the Denali Hostel-- the apartments. They are about 10 miles from the entrance to the park, according to some things we've read. Again, these apartments seem to have everything we desire in a place to stay on vacation.

Please help us out. We need to make our reservations as soon as possible. All of the help you guys have given us so far is appreciated.
