April visit to Philadelphia

I am planning on a trip to Philadelphia the weekend of April 18th thru the 20th and am looking for recommendations on hotels to stay at. I would like to go to the Franklin Institute to see the Star Wars exhibit but would also like to go to the National Constitution Center to see the Baseball as America exhibit. I have seen on a map that there are many hotels in between these two attractions. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use priceline for a good hotel rate...especially good rates on weekends.

Pretty much anything between the two should be fairly decent, and there are often bargains in Philadelphia. Have Fun!

My husband saw the Star Wars exihibit last weekend and was disappointed. He said it was packed and very difficult to try any of the hands-on items.

If you do not require a luxury hotel, a friend recently had a good experience at a Residence Inn at Broad and Market, convenient to everything and near Reading Terminal if you want to pick up something for your kitchenette. Chinatown is also nearby with some very good restaurants. There is also a Courtyard in the neighborhood (the Convention Center is nearby).

I would not stay at the Marriott on Market as their lobby and casual restaurant are under construction and finding a place for a drink or a meal within the building is not possible.

We took the 20 minute tour of Independence Hall in January for the first time in 30 years. I found it very moving to realize what risk these people accepted for the sake of the country, a contrast to today's obsession with "me first."
