Check out current theater shows. A live production is always fun and the kids would enjoy it, even if it's a seat in the back row - especially a musical. Try www.sfgate.com for info.

thanks so much! I will check out all of the suggestions! Now, if I can also request (of course) a great chinese restaurant? and seafood? They already told me "we are eating a lot when we are there!"

The Fillmore Auditorium or the Great American Music Hall would be terrific places to catch some live music. I know there are some very au courant groups playing there because I don't recognize any of the names sometimes!

Yank Sing for chinese food(dim sum)
Skate boarding along the Embarcadero (or just take the F car)
Agree about the baseball game and suggest Acme Chop House
Mitreon will delight them in all the ways you don't want them to be delighted! (serious video games)
Bring them over to Berkeley and check out Berkeley Rep(Pillowman) or a movie at any of the "art houses".
The Alcatraz Night Tour might be fabu!

Exploratorium geared toward younger kids? I went there with my college physics class It was great fun. Also, my husband's company had their winter party there a couple times. I didn't get to go because I was on a business trip, but my husband said it was great. His company is largely made up of people in their 20s and early 30s.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant: Hunan Homes in Chinatown, on Jackson St. between Grant and Kearny.
I think the guys might enjoy going to Fisherman's Wharf, selecting fresh crab and french bread and sitting perhaps over by the Maritime Museum on the cement bleachers, watching the scenery.
The music suggestions of Great American Music Hall and Fillmore are good ideas, too.

Beach Blanket Babylon would be fun but keep in mind that persons under the age of 21 are only allowed at the Sunday Matinees which are at 2:00pm and 5:00pm, they are not allowed to attend the evening shows and ID's are checked.
