aparment rental in nyc

My wife and I are going to NY for a long weekend next month and were considering renting a furnished apartment for three nights. We've contacted "As you like it". Is this a good idea?

although it isn't the best search engine, try using the search box here and change your wording as you search. loads of threads regarding your querie.

I think the general consensus has been that there aren't many "independent" furnished apartments that will rent for just a weekend. But some of the "apartment hotels" or suite hotels like Affina are a good bet. Radio City Apartments is one place that DOES rent for shorter than a week periods.

NO, it's a terrible idea. Apt. scams in NYC are rampant. There's absolutely no reason in the world that 2 people coming for a weekend need to rent a private apt. and risk losing all their money, an awful place or worse. If you want a kitchen or apt. style accomodation, there are dozens of apt/hotels that will do the job from milburnhotel.com to radiocityapartments.com to the affinia.com group.

For only 3 nights, you should stay at a hotel. With thousands of great brunch/lunch/dinner restaurants, hopefully you don't plan on many (or any) "home-cooked" meals.
