Anything shaking in Hawaii ?
Everybody OK?
:? Here is link to reported 5.0 earthquake:http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/08/2....ap/index.html |
I doubt there was any damage of note. A 5.0-magnitude shaker rattles nerves and dishes, and it is a substantial jolt (you will feel it), but not really that big.

I KNEW IT!! It woke me up. I told my husband either we had an earthquake or a criminal just came in and shook our bed! I made him get up and check on everything. He said it was just him kicking.

islandmom: LO! :)
JohnD: "Anything shaking in Hawaii?" Last time I checked, lots of hips were ashaking, arattling, and arolling |
I saw a report that said if you feel an earthquake to RUN from the beach because it can cause a tidal wave.

islandmom,
I think the middle picture in the second row says it all: http://www.pbase.com/cokids/prudys Enjoy! |
LOL! I need to get those to post on palm trees.

Curious if 5.0 earthquakes are common in Hawaii?
Also Islandmom, did or would you have heard the tsunami warning sirens if you were or are in Hawaii? :? |
Only second one I've felt in ten years. No warnings went off. They have gone off when earthquakes happen far away in other Pacific areas. I think they give you a few hours so you can move your boats out.
