Anything interesting in Cedar Rapids?

We're driving from KC to Madison and staying the night in Cedar Rapids. Any ideas for a good place to eat and nice hotel, fun, but not too expensive? Where is the "field of dreams"? Does Dubuque have a fun area or a can't miss it restaurant?

Take Hwy 20 straight east of Waterloo to Dyersville. There you'll find the F.O.D. <BR>No really nice places to stay in CR, but the 5 Seasons hotel is the closest thing to a centerpiece hotel. Not anything extraordinary, though. I'd choose a newer Courtyard or Fairfield if there is one.

You might want to check out the Czech Village area which includes a very good immigrants museum and some nice Czech restaurants. The pillow factory is fun. C.R. also has a terrific art museum, a nice children's museum and science museum. Your kids might enjoy dinner in the nearby Amana Colonies, one of the state's most popular tourist spots. The dinners are served family style and there are several places to choose from.

Don't know where your interests lie, but Dubuque has a gambling boat, and dog racing. Also a small riverboat museum and a cable car ride up the bluffs.
