Anything exciting to do in Georgia?

I'll be visiting My dad who lives in Atlanta - Is there anything exciting to see in Georgia - (been shopping and to see the Ruby falls and of course stone mountain !)
We'll be there with a 6 year old - who gets bored easily !

Where to start? There's so much to see and do in Atlanta. Our kids have enjoyed Fernbank Museum, the zoo, Center for Puppetry and World of Coke. If he/she likes basball, a tour of Turne field is fun. If you like amusement parks, there's Six Flags and White Water. There's good information at www.accessatlanta.com and www.atlanta-kids.com

Thanks.

I'll be going in 3 weeks - i'll look at those websites for some ideas.

Me and my husband did go to the Coke place (not a great fan of coke!)- but the best thing was shopping (I'm from the UK).

A daytrip to Calloway Gardens is great, esp. the butterflies.

Dina did you ever consider that a title like yours, "Anything exciting to do in Georgia" is slightly insulting to anyone who happens to be from Georgia and might result in their not looking any further?

Hope this doesn't sound too picky, but that and titles like "What to do in the Grand Canyon", make me stop in my tracks and wonder.

She was asking for your help not your ignorance!. If you are from Georgia you could help her instead of giving her the impression that she probably doesn't want to go. Try to let goodness guide your heart instead of hate. If you look for good you will find it. And yes the the 1st author, there is plenty to do and fun for a child. The Georgia tourism dept. can send you bunches of info. Have a great trip and don't let idiots ruin it for you!!!

"A reader", you dummkopf, that IS the impression she gave. It's a hell of a big place to ask if there's "anything" exciting to do in the entire state of GA!

Definitely Fernbank. They recently added one of the largest dinosaur casts in the world. I don't know any 6-year olds who don't love dinosaurs. There's also an IMAX theater there. It's not cheap, but you could easily spend half a day there.
