Anyone with Experience on Standby on Jet Blue Air?
My traveling partner & I currently have roundtrip tkts on JetBlue from NYC/JFK to Buffalo; we are planning a 5 day trip to Niagara Falls/Toronto during the 2nd weekend of July.
Our departure fron JFK is 3pm ; now I realize I can take a full vacation day instead of just leaving work early to catch my flight. Having not flown Jetblue before, does anyone have experience whether we can standby for an earlier flight (Assuming there is room on the plane) without paying a fee? Is JetBlue amenable to this? |
Why not call jetBlue? They're really the only ones who can answer with certainty, especially since airlines change their rules all the time!
I've flown JB a couple of times and was pleased. You'll like it! |
A friend of mine who flies Jet Blue a lot likes it because their change fee is only $25. So if you can change it will not cost much.

Past experience with Jet Blue is that they will let you change the flight without charge if there is room. Good luck!

Anthony..Jet Blue allows standby on the same day for which you are ticketed. There are at least 2 flights prior to the 3pm departure. There is no fee for standby. They only have to have empty seats. If you can live with a middle seat and not sitting together you should be in good shape....Standby's usually wind up in the middle.Good luck.

Anthony, the days of planes flying with lots of empty seats are long gone.
I would pay the extra $25 if there is availability. Weekend travel is very busy for the airlines. Good luck whatever you decide! |
