Anyone stayed at the St. Regis Monarch Bay in Dana Point recently?
Our family is planning a stay at this hotel in early July with two grand children, ages two and four. Is the beach access via shuttle a hassle? We want to be able to come and go from the pool to the beach without a big fuss when the little ones need to be whisked back to the room or for a meal. Appreciate any help with this.

Stayed several times and the St. Regis is a lovely hotel.
There is a shuttle that goes to the beach and if memory serves we had the cell phone for the driver.
Should be perfect in July for ocean temps and weather.
They will be happy to set up a picnic for you too.

Great hotel although it's on the other side of PCH so you're a little ways off the beach. The shuttle is basically a large golf cart. You need to be ok with waiting for 10-15 minutes sometimes for the shuttle...if you're fine with that, it's not a problem.

Have stayed there and had family stay there a few times and my son and dil stayed there for a few nights for their honeymoon.
It a lovely property and I think the service is excellent. Is the shuttle a hassle? Sure a little but they do their best to make it run as smoothly as possible. If you can afford it perhaps stay by the pool one day and do a cabana rental. The property is lovely - pricey (for everything food etc) but lovey. Enjoy your time there. I love that area.
