anyone stayed at the Royal Palms Resort in scottsdale lately?

Not sure whether to book a designer casita there, (some have said they need refurbishment) or to book the new Montavista rooms...not as much privacy there.

We were there in December; we love it there! We stayed in Alvorado spa suite room:

http://www.royalpalmshotel.com/alvadora-spa-terrace.php It was lovely.

We have also stayed in Monte Vista Terrace room, also very nice. The casitas are nicely done; I don't think you can go wrong. There are lots of little private spaces that you can wander about in the evening, with benches, seats and often firepits.

What time of year are you going?

end of august. we live in tucson, so we're taking advantage of lower summer rates.

Royal Palms is my favorite place to de-stress. They treat you like royalty from the moment you arrive. It is an oasis hideaway. I love that it is not a huge hotel with too many people. And I really appreciate the no-tip policy; makes it nicer not to have to keep reaching into your pocket every 5 minutes. The Spa should be spelled - Spaaaahhhhh, it is heaven on earth! And the food, well, let's just say it is excellent and this foodie is very happy after a meal in T. Cook's or even at the pool cafe or at the bar.

I agree - T Cooks was the spot for a special birthday for us! We ate like Kings and enjoyed every moment!

AND,.... I found this hotel/spa/restaurant on Fodors .....years ago!!!!
