Anyone stayed at La Jolla Cove Suites?
Looking for a La Jolla hotel $200/night max, ocean view would be nice. Thanks for any suggestions!

I am posting another question along with my original-- is La Jolla a good place to walk for miles on the beach? Or would another location in San Diego be better? Thank you.

Another location would be better for walking for miles along the beach. Del Mar would be good. At low tide you can really walk for miles from Del Mar to Torrey Pines State beach.
Coronado has a very long beach also an would be another option. Mission Beach/Pacific Beach is pretty long for walking and if you stay there, you have the option of walking around Mission Bay too. |
Ocean Park Inn, 710 Grand Avenue is located on Pacific Beach and agree with Barbara very good for walks.
Many reviews on this hotel at www.tripadvisor.com - We have stayed here and will do so again. Hotel website is www.oceanparkinn.com - sometimes you can get special offers as well as a ton of other information at www.sandiego.org which is the official tourist site for San Diego. Sandy |
Most of the beach walking in LaJolla is interrupted by ...
My parents used to spend "winters" in Solana Beach (late 70's - late 90's), but their (SL's) beach is mostly gone. Del Mar is nearly as expensive as La Jolla. Ocean Beach is an option, 'tho kind of "beachy". That said, Thee Bungalow and Third Corner are great somewhat upscale restaurants there. Often, if you'll be there for a week or longer, contacting a RE agent for a rental is the way to go, especially with children or more than one couple. M |
no la jolla isn't great for walkinig. as mentioned, coronado would be great as you can walk for a long ways south. not too busy and beautiful. glorietta bay hotel may be in that price range.
mission/pacific beach is great cause you can walk several miles along the ocean side then cross over and come back via the quieter bay side. these beaches are very busy though. |
