Anyone Stay at the Embassy Kauai?
 

Hi, <BR>I am planning a honeymoon to Kauai in August and have found a copule great places on the internet to stay. The Embassy Kauai looks great, and I have heard some nice responses on here about it, but I see that it is not ON the beach....How far away from the beach is it? How do you get to it? Does it pose a problem?

I have just returned from a stay at the Embassy Vacation Resort on Kauai. The accommodations are quite lovely - apartment style - and it is quite near the ocean but there is no sand beach there - rather, rocky. There is a Hyatt within walking distance which has fabulous water facilities on the property and a nice beach.. The Embassy is very nice especially if you are looking for a low key place to stay.

Embassy was great. The beach was a very short walk, about 5 - 10 minutes depending on where you condo is at at the Embassy. It is on the water but like Marcia said it is not a sandy, but still nice for walking around. <BR>The rooms were very nice and the people <BR>were nice there too. Not really commercialized, just a nice place to relax. The pool and jacuzzi were nice too! I would definately go back!

We stayed there a few years ago when it first opened..it was very nice...not at all on a beach actually on a cliff. Yes, the beach at the Hyatt is a walk away, but we went in mid July and you need to know that during our summer the beaches on the south shore of Kauai are rough and are placid on the north shore. this beach in front of the Hyatt was being used by locals surfing and the odd brave soul boogie boarding. Now the Hyatt is a gorgeous prperty but don't count on beach use. A daughter of my friend stayed on the north shore at the Princeville as did we and the water was so placid...it was great! Travel agents don't seem to push it much and many will tell you that it rains a lot here and it does...but the rainy season is from November - April. Not a drop when we were there. Sunsets to die for. When you call the Princeville don't be happy with the first rate they give you...keep digging, as it can be somewhat reasonable, especially in the summer...we didn't pay over 150.00 a night. I stayed at the Embassy in Kauai a few years back. The rooms there are great -spacious, clean, fully equipped with laundry and kitchen. However, it is on the 'quiet' side of the island and the beach is not great. The embassy seems more like a family hotel to me (just my husband and I stayed). May I suggest you also look into the hotel next door which is the Hyatt Regency Kauai. This to me seems more like a honeymoon hotel. <BR>It's beautiful and romantic. We went to Kauai on our 5 year anniversary and wished we stayed there instead. However, there is nothing wrong with the Embassy at all. It's a great value for the money. <BR> <BR>Good luck and have fun.
