Anyone run the NYC Marathon?
Congratulations! How'd you do?
DH and I visited the city that weekend and were lucky enough to be situated right off Central Park at E. 93rd St. We cheered for you as you ran by around mile 24. It was magically beautiful with the golden autumnal light casting through the falling leaves, and all the happy people cheering the runners on... just a perfect memory, even as a spectator. Thanks for helping make our trip perfect! And again, congrats! You're amazing! |
GoTravel ran it! :)
|
Awww! I see that poster on here all the time.
Awesome, GoTravel! Yeah! |
Thank you!
I ran and it was an experience of a lifetime! I've tried several times to write a trip report but unfortunately it is just too difficult to put into words. It comes out stiff and silly. Thanks for cheering us on! |
Go Travel - well done, you! I think it would be great if you could do a "runner's perspective" for us.
Closest I've ever come to it was a "shuffle" in the Sydney City to Surf a few years back. Was great fun but we certainly didn't break any records. |
I second that suggestion! A review from the runner's perspective, esp of the NY marathon, would be quite awesome.
Every year, DH and I swear we're going to run the next LA marathon, then my job gets nutty and busy and interrupts our steady training three times per year. Ughhhh. Excuses excuses right?! |
Here's a challenge:
GoTravel, if you'll do a race report for the NYC Marathon, I'll do one for the Marine Corps Marathon that I ran in DC in October. |
My brother ran and finished in the top 20%--(he used to finish in the top 10% but his knees are older now).
I have walked marathons but can't imagine running one. Congrats to everyone! |
I've been thinking about running it. I'm looking for a good coach. Does anyone have Rosie Ruiz phone number?
|
Forget the coach; all you need is a good map of the NY subway.
