Anyone local from Vegas?
 

Hello:

I will be in Vegas mid January. This time I wanted to try the off-strip restaurants. Places locals go to.

I am willing to drive for food!

So far, I have searched the web without much luck. The only places I have found are "Rosemary´s" and "Todd´s". Are they worth it?

We have dined at most casino celeb chef´s places, etc. But this time we are in the mood for MORE!
A good italian place is a +!

I've heard a lot about Rosemary's, it is supposedly excellent but pricey. I've heard locals recommend Port Tack...and for Italian I think it's "Ferraro's". RateLasVegas.com has lots of restaurant reviews and rankings, both casino and off-strip.

Glacier Ice Cream, on the far west tip of Tropicana avenue up past the Orleans hotel a few miles, is WELL WORTH the trip.

If you can help us out a little by telling us which part of town you will be in, what type of food you are interested in, and what your price range is, we can help.

I know that you said you were willing to drive, but I'm sure there is a limit to the number of miles you will go for a good meal. Also, there are some little pub-like places that have some good food, as well as some unique fast food places around. Are you only interested in upscale restaurants?

My favorite upscale local restaurant is Table 34 on Warm Springs, located a few miles southeast of the strip.

I highly recommend Carluccio's (1775 E. Tropicana Ave (Next to the Liberace Museum) • 702-795-3236) for great Italian food.

One of my most favorite restaurants in town is a local place in Henderson, it is Italian, and it is called Ventano's. It is terrific! The service is great, food is great, views are great.
It is near Green Valley Ranch if familiar with that area. From the Strip take I-15 South, 215 East, exit Valle Verde to the right (so going south), make a left on Horizon Ridge and a left on Arroyo Grande and it is right there on the left. If I can find the link for it I will post it. The owner is chef Arnauld Briand, sometimes he even comes out of the kitchen and walk around the restaurant. A MUST HAVE is their creme brulee.

Oh, and yes, Rosemarys is well worth the money and the drive out to Summerlin. We took my mom last year for her 60th b-day and it was fantastic. The owners are husband and wife and he used to be excutive chef to Emeril while in New Orleans. Very, very good food and service.

If you like pizza, there is a good place called 3 Brothers Pizza. It is also in the Green Valley Ranch area. Take the same directions I gave you for Ventano's, just turn right on Horizon Ridge instead and it is in a little strip mall on the corner of Horizon Ridge & Carnegie. They really are 3 brothers that moved here from New Jersey, and they make excellent NY style pizza.

I will drive as far as Summerlin and to Green Valley. Willing to drive aprox 15 min from the strip.

We are staying @ TI.

Not particularly looking for fast food and it does not have to be super elegant either just good food! Quality not quantity (we hate buffets)-get the pic;)

We like these cuisines: continental, new american, italian, and greek.

Summerlin is a little further than 15 minutes from the strip, especially according to where your hotel is located. Generally around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

Piero's near the convention center is an excellent restaurant where a lot of celeb's go.

If you are willing to travel to Summerlin Hannah's is an very good restaurant, it's the daughter's restaurant from the famous Cruatacean restaurant in Las Vegas. The Red Rock Station Casino also has a very good steakhouse, T-Bones. There is also a Roy's and Flemming's in the area. Rosemary's is worth it and also in the same general area.

Just read you're staying at the TI so it should take about 20 mins to Hannah's and maybe 15 minutes to Rosemary's with good traffic conditions traveling straight up Sahara.

If you end up downtown at the Fremont light show, consider Pasta Pirate in the California hotel. It's a local fave, and much better than the name would lead you to believe. Casual yet classy. The shrimp scampi is often recommended and we agree.

We'll be in downtown LV in June for a family reunion. We may stay at the Cal (or Main Street Station), so I'll check out the Pasta Pirate. I'm also looking forward to going to the Triple 7 Brew Pub when we're there.

Rosemary's is certainly not pricey if you take advantage of their lunch deal (which is perhaps the best such deal in the U.S.): three gourmet courses for $20.05!

We're taking some business colleagues for a dinner and they suggested Piero's. Never been, but it's Italian!
