Anyone know Destin damage?

Hi, I wondered if anyone in the Destin area knew what damage was caused by Ivan? We have a family condo unit and haven't been able to get much info on how it fared. Am scheduled to head down in a few days, but wondered if anyone has seen the damage? Thanks
Jane

Topping. I would also like to know. I think Destin is the jewel of the gulf coast and hope it fared well through the hurricane.

I just talked to my cousin this afternoon. They are in Fort Walton Beach, and have their business in Destin, where they manage a number of rental units. Her husband has been over there all day trying to help tenants.
There is damage all over, it seems that it's hit and miss. My cousin's Place made it with some roof damage and the siding is gone but they are still standing- but then the neighbors were just completely wiped out. She told me it's hard for them to get any consistent info down there, even the radio is intermittant.
The biggest problem is to get some infrastructure up and working, then in a few days, it will be more possible to get news.

I do know the Causeway over to Destin is washed out, but they took an alternate route. Other sections of highway are gone as well.
Wanderluster, you're right, Destin is a jewel, she'll come back as bright and shining as always.

Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Pensacola reportedly got the worst of it. Much is totally demolished at those two beaches. However, I've seen some bad pictures of Destin as well. My sis lives in Fairhope (only about 15 mi. from Gulf Shores, and her place faired very well...still no power though).
The I-10 bridges are washed out. So traffic is being diverted throuh Hwy 84.
Hope this helps ( I'm afraid there's an awful lot of mysery out there!) OSB.

Go to al.com and click on cams/radio to click on nbc15 wpmi that will give you the lastest news out of Mobile, AL. with many pics of various areas. I imagine Pensacola has a similar website so search for it on google. OSB.
