Anyone ever use Ace Rent A Car?
Anybody hear of this company? I'll be using them on an upcoming trip and just want to confirm that they're legitimate. The price was just a little too good. Will the driver side door be the same color as the rest of the car? Will the muffler be held in place with a coat hanger? Will both headlights work?

I'm curious too as during an upcoming trip to Denver, there price is $10 cheaper a day - big savings...any thoughts?

I've used ACE in St. Croix. Had no problem. Like you, I was leary of using them at first (couldn't pass up the price), but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and car I received..which was similar to the big name companies.

Ace is never really ACE. Ace is the name of a reseravations system for rental cars. I rented from "ACE" in Toronto and it turned out to be "Econocar" and it was a nightmare! They closed early, so there was no shuttle at the airport so I had to take a cab. They did not offer an excuse but brought the car to my hotel the next day. It was more than a year old with 60000km on it and said check engine. Months after I returned the car to them, they ran a charge through my card for "adjustment of charges". This must have been a scam from them. I disputed it with my credit card. I would stay away from this ACE if you do not want a headache. Alamo is far easier.

I will let everyone know how it went.

Ace (at least in Indianapolis) was fine. Their office was about 3 miles from the airport terminal. They don't run regular shuttle buses, you need to call them when you get to the airport. Had booked an 'economy' car online, $120 for 1 week, but they gave me a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with leather seats and 27,000 miles for the same price.

All in all a good experience.
