Anyone else in need of an Islands Fix?

Just checked the countdown calendar & it's still 188 days until we return.
This YouTube cheered me up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnLHB...eature=related
If you're hurtin' for Hawaii, hope this helped...any other beautiful videos you'd care to share would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. For max enjoyment, try hitting the 720HD & full size buttons at the lower right of the screen; and crank up the volume.

A little over 90 days for us, for a second trip this year! We usually go once a year in spring, but DH was so in need that he figured out a way to pay for trip #2!. ( another good reason for not spending a lot of money on "stuff". See the Lounge topic on this,)

was on Kauai in February for my 65th and planning a short trip to Honolulu on November 3rd with my sis so I'm good until February when DH and I go to Big Island for our 30th anniversary. I NEVER get tired of readying about and dreaming about hawaii- one reason why I have hawaii Magazine subscription. When I need a fix I put on my Hawiian music and it takes me there instantly.

Lucky you charnees! If we could swing two trips yearly to Hawaii, I could probably reduce my YouTube flights of fantasy by 75+%!
Shar; definite ditto on Hawaii magazine. Also, their website is always a worthwhile once a week visit. In addition, we just started a subscription to Hawaiian Airlines in-flight magazine Hana Hou and have picked up several good ideas.
Five days is better than nothing sf 7307; been years ago but, due to STUPIDLY letting business override pleasure, we almost missed Hawaii. Then, right after Christmas, what was then known as America West started (briefly) flying 747's to Hawaii and we flew over for 4 days using frequent flyer miles. "Only" went to Waikiki, and probably downed a two week quota of Mai Tais, but it was worth it.
That $149 rate is truly incredible 1JAR. My wife & granddaughter just went out to San Diego to celebrate a 21st birthday. They had a great time (pretty sure the highlight was granny being taken for mom on a couple of ocassions), but just after returning, Alaska announced that deal & they were both bummed to the max.
Anyway, how about some more Hawaii music videos?

Btw; believe all of the above are available in HD/full screen
Anyone else have favorites they'd care to share?

Hula, we've been before for short trips - since we can fly nonstop to Oahu, Maui and Kauai from
SF (actually Oakland this trip), it's easy!

We already had our tickets on Alaska, Oakland-Kona, when they announced those special rates. Damn and blast! We really love the Alaska flight. Good leg room and seat width. It will also be our first trip since losing weight, so the seats should be more comfortable.

Hate to tell you, but we are going for three weeks!! Retirement is wonderful!

I just posted this slideshow of my recent trip to Kauai. (Turn on the sound.) It should provide a temporary fix for those who are as addicted as I am.

You folks living in California are blessed; our flights to Hawaii begin/end with 2 1/2 hour SFO connections on a puddle-jumping United Express CRJ 200 that doesn't even offer the option of economy plus seating. Made our reservations for next January-February back in March & already have had 4 schedule changes; last years "what's next?" adventure included San Francisco...no; Los Angeles...uh, back to SFO and the return trip threw Denver into the mix. With the Continental merger, I wouldn't be surprised if our future doesn't include a stop-over in beautiful Houston.
Anywhere, other than a final destination of Hawaii, and I'd chuck the whole thing. Btw, one more year & the wife retires (unless the political circus in D.C. gets even worse; in which case I may be lucky to repeat "Welcome to WalMart" 600 time a day).
Outstanding EXPERT video Songdoc ! ! ! My Sunday is off to a great start/bookmarked 3 places/forwarded to members of our local Hawaii Lovers group + family & friends. Beautiful sights & prize winning happy smiles.
Our last trip to Kauai had to be rescheduled & we lost out on Hanalei Colony. Ended up at Sealodge & had view identical to yours. Was up before daybreak most mornings and could see the lighthouse + incredible 20 minute sunrises. Looks as though you did lots of hiking; ever taken a helicopter tour?

Was sharing w/Foderites Friends as the ideal vacation (at last in my mind)for some might be to fly into San Diego spend a couple of days to recuperate and then on to Hawaii.
