Anyone else having trouble contacting American Airlines?

I have been trying to call AA all day and I just get a recording to try back later. I have a friend who wants to book a ticket and get on the same flight as I. When we go to their website, the flight is not listed.

When I pulled up my reservation, it appears they have changed my flight number/time. We would like to verify all this but can't get hold of a person. I also checked my husband's flights (he's traveling on different days) and his flights are listed twice with different numbers and times.

We'd like to get this sorted out before my friend tries to book. Anyone else having trouble getting through to them?

How do they expect us to book travel if we can't get to them! Frustrated in Texas.

I talked to American yesterday after a 5-10 minute hold but didn't try today.

Keep trying. Yesterday I contacted American twice--first to verify my flight, which had been cancelled; and a second time to book a flight for my son. Both times I had to use the redial feature on my phone multiple times before I penetrated the system and got through to the call-waiting level. I had to wait about 5 minutes, which wasn't bad, considering everything.

Try calling in the middle of the night. I've been able to get thru with only about a two minute wait.

I spoke with a very nice woman from American a few moments ago. Took about 3 minutes on hold.

Another option is e-mail from the aa.com website.

OK, I kept trying, called at least 30 more times, never got the option to hold, the recording just kept telling me to try again later.

After two days, finally got through, was on hold for 25 min, confirmed my husband's "real" flight numbers and times (they changed his flight number and had him down for 2 flights at different times).

I confirmed my flight number (it had also changed) so I could make sure my friend got on the same flight. I asked why I (and my husband) hadn't been notified our the number and time changes and was told I had been (huh?).

I'm flying on an eticket (husband has paper) so I figured it's really important that I have something in writing to reflect the changes. I hope I get something before I go.

American Airlines surely is not making it easy to want to keep booking and flying with them.

Good luck to anyone emailed AA from their website. I have sent emails three times and have not received responses to any (sent last email about 3 weeks ago so doubt I am ever going to get a response)

You might want to check with a local ticket office, if there is one where you live. Hopefully since they have access to the system you can get your questions answered.
