OUCH
That was cold jama....I guess I do need assistance in conducting a double blind study just to keep myself honest. :-B

We can also test Waikiki's beaches. I believe we can monitor them from Longhi's.

Kal: Thanks so much for your information, I had a great time reading it! I love other people's experiences and trip reports.

I will keep listening and reading reports of Oahu, but Kauai is sounding pretty good

sherrie: We may be making the same decision. I know people are saying that it's safe, and I'm sure it will be, but for some reason I feel uneasy about it still. I'm going to keep doing research, and wait a bit to decide. Thanks for your input!

Beachgirl. For you, changing locale could be a win win situation. You haven't been to Kauai so this could be just the excuse you need to get there. I know you plan to go back in 2007, so you could go back to Oahu then. If it doesn't cost too much to make switch, might be the best thing to help you feel good about the trip.

geez, I hope it's nothing to worry about months from now! I'm getting married in end of June and there are quite a few guests coming who are first timers to Oahu. Personally, I'm not worried about anything by then...I'd still take the ocean in Waikiki 2mos from now compared with some of these yucky beaches in So Cal.

beachgirl86, either way, if you haven't been to Kauai you sure better get their soon!

oooh, chepar! You are my kind of gal! I agree with everything you said.

And Kal! We can't monitor the beaches from Longhi's unless Kuranosuke is there to help us get a seat!

BTW, no talk of centipedes please. That's, um, a sore subject for me this week!

Beachgirl, I live on Oahu and I rarely go swimming....except maybe Waimea Bay, and other places to the north & west of the island. Now, that's fabulous!
