Anyone Been to Mount Rainier Over the Past Week?

If so, can you give me a firsthand account of the weather and visibility for photography purposes? I know it's been raining pretty good up there and will continue to come down throughout the week to come. Just wondering how bad it is.

Thanks and Best,
RT

If it isn't rain and fog expect snow.

Wait until the sun is out bright and hike up there on snowshoes.

Well I haven't been to Mt Rainier recently, but I live in Seattle and it's been cold and pouring rain most days. I can't imagine it's be that great up the mountain.

Thanks all. From LA and making the final decision on whether to brave it. Don't know the next time I will be up there so may just make the irrational decision to go.

Unless we get snow I think it'd be fine to head down to Rainier at least at the lower levels. Just knowing it probably won't be especially pleasant weather or likely have great photo-ops.

Wasn't it about 3 weeks ago that the 2 guys were rescued from a snow cave they constructed on Mt. Rainier? They were rescued about 40 hours after they made the 911 call by rescuers on snowshoes.
There are snowshoe hikes led by NPS Rangers starting this weekend at Crater Lake NP. They provide the snowshoes if you don't have your own.
