Any Tips for Lahaina, Maui?

I'm going to Lahaina for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years, I'm looking for any tips or advise on good sightseeing tours and or good bars and clubs.

Any advise is appreciated.

Jason

For nightlife info try Mauitime.com. Things change pretty quickly here, but if you were coming this week, I'd steer you towards Paradice Bluz any night, Lahaina Coolers on sunday afternoons and The Hard Rock on Mondays for Marty Dread.

Sit and have a drink at the old Pioneer Inn on the harbor - assuming they haven't knocked that down, too!

Highly recommend going to Warren & Annabell's Magic Show (www.hawaiimagic.com). It is EXCELLENT!!

I grew up there and still have family living there. I hope you enjoy it. I like Trinity sailing for snorkeling/cruising to Molokini island. Call the concierge desk at the Ritz and ask who they recommend for the most authentic luau/took my husband to one of the best at the recommendation of my cousin who used to by concierge there - shes in vegas now and I can't remember the name. Iao Mountain is good too, walk through the forest and japanese garden to get a feel of the island. have fun

Ditto on the snorkeling in Molokini! It's a perfect time to watch for whales, maybe a little early, but they are there! The snorkeling was great fun!! My husband and I are in our late twenties and we stayed in Lahaina for 3 days. We liked getting drinks at Kimo's just because it was right on the water and it had a lively crowd outside. I know luaus can be hokey, but, the Old Lahaina Luau was so much fun, I'm almost embarrassed to have enjoyed it so much. The food, entertainment and drinks were all great. Get a seat on the ground if you can. We had lunch twice at Aloha Mixed Plate - cheap and good! And of course there's the Road to Hana if you're looking to sightsee a little more of the island - it takes all day, but if you have 2 weeks, you might want to give it a shot.
