Any tips about renting car in FQ in New Orleans?

We will need one car for four on Tuesday morning of our trip, in August, renting from an office in the FQ, for a few days driving on to Nashville. We then want to drop it off in Nashville, won't need a car while there.

Haven't rented a car in years. Any companies that you love/hate? Do they all charge drop off fees? Any CO that makes renting easier than others?

Thanks.

I don't understand. You already know you are picking up a car at an office in the FQ, but you don't know from which company? Or is your assumption that you will be able to rent a car once in the FQ?

Others who have done this should be able to tell you something more current. In the past, I have rented cars from National, Avis, and Hertz, but never from an office in the FQ. I would have to assume that the rental companies normally identified for low rates would be the first ones to try: Alamo and Dollar come to mind. Good luck.

Hi Wayne. Thanks for your response. The hotel did tell me that there was a Budget down the street.

Yes, we get into the airport about 6 and plan to take the shuttle into FQ for dinner. Won't need a car until next moring to start our road trip to Nashville. Seemed kind of extra expense to pay for a car for a night when we did not need and then to pay extra for parking?

Maybe there would be more selection, better rate to do it that way.

Does anyone have opinions on Budget?

I've never rented from Budget, but I have had good luck with Dollar on several occasions.

Budget car rentals are just fine. Go ahead and do what you planned; it sounds good. Good luck.
