Any thoughts on the Aqua Waikiki Wave hotel in Honolulu?
Thinking about booking this hotel for our short stay in Honolulu. Their website says the property is new and will be opening in December. The price is great ($150 or so) and includes a continental breakfast. There are no reviews on Tripadvisor that I can find. Please help.

I can answer this - this hotel was - until last week - the Coral Reef on Kuhio, right behind the Int'l Market Place. I know this because I booked a package that included five nights at the Coral Reef and when I went online to look up something about the Coral Reef the other day, I couldn't find it anywhere. I finally looked on the
"contact us" page of the Aqua Resorts website and found the address (2299 Kuhio) and it said "Waikiki Wave." I called and was told they are finishing the renovation and starting the "Grand Opening" and the new name had just taken place.
I had stayed at the Coral Reef a couple of times before and it was a clean, decent economy hotel in a great location. Now it is the newest of the Aqua Resorts renovated "boutique" hotels in Waikiki. I'm looking forward to checking it out in a few weeks.

I got GREAT rates - the entire package was unbelievable - through The Visitor Center online travel agency - they actually hook you up with a real live travel agent you can talk to on the phone. That was a welcome relief to me since all this "online" stuff is new to old fashioned me. Their website is www.visitorcenter.com.
