Any talk of splitting this forum into regions?

This forum is so unwieldy with valuable information being so quickly buried due to all the wonderful activity. Is there any chance that Fodor's would split the forum into regions to facilitate finding your post? I posted last night and had to scroll through 175 posts until I found it, and that was less than 10 hours apart. I am a regular on the Australian/NZ forum and it is quite busy, but you at least can find your post in the first 50 if you check regularly. This US one is quite overwhelming, but has lovely, helpful people just as on the OZ/NZ group. Thanks to all who helped me!

You can either click on your name or type the key word in the search window.

I love Fodor's layout and find it the easiest to use compare to any other travel forum.

I'm not sure how quickly topics get indexed into search (so you may not find your posts that way right away), but clicking on your name is a sure way to find every post you've ever made.

I hope they don't split it - I think that would result in people posting their questions on multiple boards when they're visiting multiple regions, just resulting in more clutter and confusion! :)

Several years ago, I think they did split them for a while, but it didn't work well. This does work pretty well. As Faina said, you can click on your name and every thread you've posted on will come up in the left-hand frame.

Maybe I could see separating Hawaii but would hate to see things broken up any smaller.

As mentioned if you know how to use the site (i.e. click on your own name, remember some exact wording from the title and search, topping your own thread, etc.) you can easily navigate your way around. There's no reason to have to scroll through 175 posts.

tripboards.com does it well

SnRSeattle, it's mentioned every now and then, but I personally love it like it is! I wouldn't change a thing, even the Hawaii postings. No other travel board is as easy to maneuver, as Miss Faina says! (I always pay attention to Miss Faina ... :p)

This is because with BonnieBroad we always compliment each other :))

REX, will you please stop promoting your board? It's not easy to navigate, very much reminds of Travelers To Go on EZ Board, and you have to work and work on it to make it usable.

I would hope that they would not split it. It would likely cut down on the number of replies each thread would get due to not everyone reading each "section" on a regular basis. Sometimes I'm just on here browsing and I come across a thread I can be of help on-- people would easily miss this opportunity if it was divided into more sections.

It would be a shame to split this forum into regions. Two of my trips last year were inspired after scanning through this forum. I didn't have anything planned, but after reading GoTravel's Charleston report, I decided that was our spring trip and we had a fabulous time. Also, all the posts about Utah's National Parks made me take a closer look at an area I had not considered before and I was hooked. In fact, I'm thinking about going back this year for more exploring. If I had to click on individual regions I would not have taken those trips because I wasn't really looking at those specific regions.

I think it probably would be useful to split out Hawaii. After all, there aren't any places you can stop at on the way there. The questions seem to be the same ones over and over. Perhaps if the Hawaii ones were all together, posters would find the answers easier.

I would really hate to have any of the rest of the postings split. Traveling from Point A to Point B can become a lot more interesting if you can read about a lot of other points in between.

Some travelers break up the flight to Hawaii in Los Angeles.
