Any Suggestions for an Arizona Wedding?

My fiance` and I have decided to get married "somewhere" in Arizona in the month of May. It will just be the two of us and we were looking for outdoor locations that would make for a great scenic setting. We are thinking about either Phoenix, Sedona, or maybe even the Grand Canyon. In total we will be spending 10 days in the Phoenix and Grand Canyon areas...any other tips on places to stay or things to do would be greatly appreciated!

One place you might consider is at Red Rock State Park just outside Sedona. Weddings are often held under a gigantic Fremont cottonwood tree alongside Oak Creek. Look for a web site under Arizona State Parks and try to take it from there.

From a photography standpoint, I think Sedona is the most striking place in AZ. The GC is more awe-inspiring due to its size, but I find it's very difficult to capture that in a photograph, while Sedona's scenery is easier to appreciate in pictures.
A subtle point, perhaps.
But I'd choose Sedona out of all the places in AZ. Plus there are some very nice lodging options there while there are no memorable/special lodgings in the GC area (El Tovar is average at best).

In Sedona, suggest you check into either Enchantment Resort or L'Auberge de Sedona - both very nice places to stay and I'm sure could recommend a great spot to get married. Phoenix has a wealth of great resorts - The Boulders, The Phoenician, Biltmore, Royal Palms, Four Seasons at Troon,
Princess, Hyatt Gainey Ranch. Agree with
previous poster about El Tovar (at the
Grand Canyon) being average, but it is
in a great location. There should be a wealth of information on this website.
Congratulations

I will be going this place in Sedona in April. I would think if you were to have a wedding there, it may be cheaper than some of the more popular larger places in Sedona. I think an outdoor wedding by the pool with their view would be beautiful.

You should get your hands on the latest issue of Sedona Magazine. It covers the outdoor weddings and locations in and around Sedona. Good Luck and Congratulations!

This might be somewhat different, but closer to Sedona. There is a very scenic canyon like area near Prescott Valley heading up to Chino Valley, which is really breath taking. I forget the name of the town though, but a friend of mine got married there and it was absolutely beautiful. I live in Pennsylvania, and I would go there to get married!
