Any recommendations for most romantic Cape Cod getaway?
 

Hello, can anyone help me choose the best lodging along the Cape? I am looking for a place without children if possible. We'll be going in July and have noticed some hotels are already sold out for my dates. So far Captains House Inn looks very nice, I'd like somewhere close to the beach. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the Cape Cod hotels - Rant &amp; Raves section or done a text search on Cape Cod. I know these questions have been asked before.<BR><BR>As for children I don't know of any lodging on Cape Cod that excludes children. Maybe some small B&amp;B's or inn's do.

Thanks for your input. Yes, I've done a text search but there isn't much for recently regarding quiet resorts besides the one I found through the website = ) <BR>I know Captains House Inn only allows children 11 &amp; up. Thanks Darvy, I'll check out Brass Key.<BR>Thanks again to you both.

If Provincetown is an option for you then, in addition to the Brass Key I would also reccomend looking at the Land's End Inn.<BR><BR>This place, overlooking provincetown Harbor, from a high hill in the West End is incredibly romantic. From the eclectic and fantastic views of the Great Hall and the wonderful peacefulness of the Koi Pond and gardens surrounding the Inn this place is incredible.<BR><BR>The problem, as I see it, is that you are already late, this being March, for many places on the Cape.<BR><BR>Don't give up though, keep trying and you might get lucky. One last suggestion: Cuddles and Bubbles in Hyannis. <BR>

Thanks Gene, you are right about being late for the Cape, my 1st &amp; 2nd hotel room choices for the Captains House Inn are already sold out. We live on the West Coast &amp; only know what we've read about the northeast, this will be our first trip to New England. Hubby just tore out a magazine page last night &amp; said &quot;That's where I want to go!&quot; lol<BR>I will check our Land's Inn and Cuddles and Bubbles now.<BR>

While the above suggestions for places with minimal kids might provide you lodging meeting that preference, I assume you are aware that in July the Cape is over-run with kids. It would be impossible to find a beach, restaurant, street, etc that was not populated by families with at least 53,000 kids/family - some only minimally supervised and most under the age of 4 crying. I have kids, like kids, can tune out kids belonging to others, like the Cape in the summer - but there are times even I find it a little much.

Gail, yes, I figured July will probably be very busy time. The problem is, I can't think of another place to go that won't be just as crowded. We won't be going to the beach that much except maybe for evening walks on the shore. My only other reference for beach towns is visiting the boardwalk of Atlantic City about 12 years ago and I remember how swamped it was with people. Of course, then I didn't mind it as a swingin single ;-) I think we'll probably stick around the hotel/inn, see some sights and catch some movies. I hope it's not too bad....

Okay I think Provincetown is out unfortunately. I don't think hubby can handle the excitement:-0 We just may drive down there though. It looks very pretty!

Check out the Queen Anne Inn in Chatham.It is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach.The rooms have private outside jacuzzis on the balconies, some have fireplaces. Chatham is a beautiful Cape Cod town.

A B&amp;B in Chatham, or along Rte 6A in any of the villages would be my suggestion. Also The Fernbrook Inn in Centerville, (Center of the Cape) is stately and 1/2 mile to the beach. PLEASE DON'T EVEN THINK OF CUDDLES AND BUBBLES, it's considered tacky and seedy by most peoples standards. We are blessed with antiquity and most of the B&amp;B's are old and very charming, therefore you almost can't go wrong with that choice. Do a B&amp;B search for the Cape, or check out the Chamber's listings. Brewster is also wonderful for sunsets do a little search online for Brewster B&amp;B's.

Try the Wedgewood Inn in Yarmouthport.
