Any recommendations?

Hi,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Oregon next week... Here's our itenerary

Day1 Drive upto Klamath Falls from California
Day2 Check out Crater Lake, Tokettee Falls; Drive to Roseburg
Day3 Check out Wild life Safari; Drive to Reedsport
Day4 Check out Sand Dunes; Drive back to California

I had a couple of questions...
1. Are there any cheese factories on any of these routes?
2. How are the Sea Lion Caves in Florence? Are they really worth it? Will they be open even if it rains?
3. Where are the dunes better? in Reedsport or in Florence?
4. Is there anything else you recommend we include from the trip?
5. Are there any good restaurants (preferably romantic!!) that you can recommend?

Regards,
Jo

One more question.. Has anyone stayed in the rustic cabin at the Umpqua Lighthouse State park? Do we need to take sleeping bags and linen? Does it have heat inside the cabin?

Depending on where you are coming from in California, I would recommend staying in Ashland rather than Klamath Falls. Much more interesting and I can recommend several restaurants (romantic and otherwise) there.

If you stay in the Ashland/Medford area there is the Rogue Creamery in Central Point (just next to Medford). They have won international awards for their cheese. Here is their website: www.roguecreamery.com/

If you try re-posting your questions with "Oregon" in the title you might get more information. :)

Thanks jgg.. I did see the site of the Rogue Creamery.. but do you know any that are on the coast?

Thanks cabovacation... I have taken your advice and reposted the question.. :-)

Too bad you aren't going further north on the coast. Tillamook Cheese Factory is really something to see. Great restaurants in Lincoln City as well. Next trip, I guess.
