Any parasailing in Kauai?

We haven't been back to Kauai in about 4 years and wonder if anyone knows if any parasailing has started up on the island?

In Kal's trip report he mentions seeing parasailing on Lydgate Beach. Maybe he can provide more info. His trip report has fallen off the first 50 but is tnear the top on the next 50 topics.

Tina,
Don't know any exact company names but you may want to try Anini Beach Windsurfing, Outfitters Kauai, Activity Warehouse, or Snorkel Bob's. If they don't offer it I'm sure they can tell you who does. They are pretty friendly that way.
Mahalo

Saw some 'sails' out towards Bali Hai or maybe even further west, couldn't tell if it was kiteboarding or just parasails - too far away. You might look in trykauai.com and see if any info there.
good luck

Sorry, there are no companies offering parasailing on Kauai. The sails everyone is seeing is Kite surfers, a sport that is really becoming popular.

Oooops. Guess I am showing my age.

What I saw were guys who are harnessed to I guess what you can call a kite, (still looked like a parachute to me), get it up in the air then run from shore and jump on the small surf boards and the "kite" pulls them out.

I guess "parasailing" is officially where a motor boat pulls you up from skis with a large parachute?
If that's the case, never seen it either. You can waterski on the Wailua, though.
Geritol time.
Kal

I thought parasailing was banned on Kauai. I seem to remember a mention of that in on the Kauai guidebooks.
