Any other Idea on our trip to San Francisco?

Hello
We going new week to San Francisco, we will be staying at "THe Palace" anyone has a feedback on the hotel?
We already booked a Segway tour on SF, wine country, hot air balloon and dinning at the cruise with Hornblower line.

What else should I do?
I left some free time fo visit Alcatraz and Fisherman's warf, any other place to go?

After SF we will spending 2 nights at Yosemite and then 3 days at wherever the wind takes us. any thoughs?

Thank you very much for your advise.
Marcos

Top notch hotel...very swanky...used to be the Sheraton Palace...they have a great princess tea there during the holidays...also the best hot buttered rum I have ever had. Food is excellant, bread basket to die for.

You will situated near the financial area district of the city...your nearest main street in Market....a few blocks to the left and you will be near all of the shopping at the market street shopping center, and you are also near union square.

have a fun time, and remember to be cool to all of the natives of sf.

Palace hotel, New Montgomery @ Market? Excellent! Haven't stayed there, only had a lunch and a tea. Wonderful restaurant!

Fishermen's wharf = tourist trap. Visit Alcatraz and maybe bus tour to Muir Woods to see the redwoods? And then Sausalito (beautiful village) and ferry (boat) back home.

Hello Margenti, there is so much to see in SF. The Ferry Bldg., right down Market from your hotel is a fun place to go to. North Beach and ChinaTown. Museums, Golden Gate Park, Union St., an area (not to be confused with Union Sq which is very closed to your hotel). Enjoy!!

I just echo that The Palace is a good hotel.

Maxfield, in the ground floor, is a pretty good casual restaurant. Good burgers are not easy to find in SF, and Maxfield has a pretty good burger.

I know it's corny but you have to ride a street-car. I love the one that starts at the hub, and runs thru Chinatown on down to Fisherman's Wharf.

Ferry Building, Golden Gate Park, SF MoMA, Union Square shopping, Chinatown, Little Italy. You won't run out of things to do in SF.

The Palace has, IMO, the best Sunday champagne brunch in town. Yum! The atrium is gorgeous! Have fun!

You may want to extend your time in Yosemite and drive through the Tioga Pass to Mammoth. Prior to Yosemite, you may want to visit Sequoia National Park and/or King's Canyon National Park. The trees in Sequoia are majestic and King's Canyon will be less crowded than Yosemite.

For a uniquely San Francisco experience, attend church at Glide Memorial. There is a mostly white gospel choir and you'll often find celebrities, like Bono, in the congregation. Go early to get a seat. This is a church that serves millions of meals each year, gets people off of drugs and make the homeless employable.

Cable Car & the Cable Car Musuem. Also, the Metreon and Yerba Buena Gardens in near where you are staying, and nice to walk around. Chinatown and Belden Place have great dining options (nice walks from the Palace also).

JThe Palace is one of the grand old San Francisco hotels; it was the Palace long before Sheraton added that name. The Garden Court restaurant, under the dome, is where green goddess salad dressing originated.
