Any one stayed in Pensacola?

Have you stayed in Pensacola?
I'm looking for a nice beach (which I've read it has) and any sugestions as to where to stay, small house or condo with a pool.
What is there to do around the area? Any where to snorkel? (No kids with us)
I'll be very grateful for any feed back,
Thanks
Linz

I lived on Pensacola beach for several years, and agree with the above post--it is a great beach. I can't recommend any motel/condo, but am sure you will enjoy trip.

I haven't lived in Pensacola Beach in a while, but can offer this. It is a great location and you will see some of the finest beaches anywhere. Some of the motels are on Santa Rosa Sound, not the Gulf of Mexico. I would definitely make sure my motel is on Pensacola BEACH, gulf front, and not in Pensacoal or Gulf Breeze. The Dunes used to be nice. I've also heard good things about the Hampton Inn, and Best Western.
Good luck.
The beaches from Pensacola to Panama City are outstanding but don't miss out on a canoe/kayak/tube trip on beautiful coldwater creek, near Milton,fl-about a 30min drive from Pns.Big wide white sandbars and plenty of birds and turtles.A great place to get away from it all.Look at adventuresunlimited.com.I love it better than the beach.

There are several nice condos that have some rooms available for weekly rentals on the Gulf side at Pensacola Beach. (One is Emerald Isle. It does have a nice pool plus a spectacular view of the sunrises and sunsets!!! sorry, I do not know the cost. You can even see dolphins when they swim by from the balcony!) Rental homes are also available to rent for the week both for Gulf side and bay side. You have a much better view on the Gulf side. The sands are sugar white and very beautiful. The seafood is marvelous....fried or broiled.
