Rubber soled boots, hat, scarf, and gloves along with a warm coat.
Black and white cookies. |
Well, you're going to have good weather--sunny, but cold--very cold and windy today, but will warm up a bit the next few days. Dress warm, wear comfy shoes and have a good time. You've got some great shows planned. Have fun!

I saw 42nd Street and Radio City last week. Just fabulous.
Good, warm walking shoes are essential. |
I took my daughter to see Chicago last Sunday and it was wonderful! I was worried becuase the show has been playing for a while now and sometimes the productions can get tired. I had seen it with Ann Reinking and Bebe Neuwirth when this revival opened. It was still great! The cast is very, very good, you will love it!

get in a cab on sunday morning at about 11. tell the cabbie to take you to Hop Shing in chinatown. it's on Chatham Square. eat dim sum, lo min (mein) and crab cantonese until they have to wheel you out. finish by having a pork bun.

If you plan on taking pictures with disposable cameras, bring what you were going to bring plus two. Their prices are outrageous in NYC (from what I saw).
If your hotel is a dump, find a cafe with a clean bathroom early in your trip. It will be your most precious find. Native New Yorkers may have more (or differing) say on this, but buy an unlimited MetroCard for the subway. Some stations don't have MetroCard machines where you can add amounts. Always ask if you're not sure which level of station goes where, and if the train is an express -- these don't stop at every stop. Visit residential Big Apple - the Upper West Side, Tribeca, Greenwich Village, etc - not just the Midtown action. It's at these neighborhoods where you'll see real New Yorkers. This segues to my advice for every sojourn -- Don't overschedule your trip or be afraid to explore. Some of the best finds and experiences are unplanned!!! |
Flopmeister, I wanted a great place to go in Chinatown and you came through! And Designmr I have always been a planner to the last detail but I will take your advice and wing it ( a little) LOL
We thank all of you for your insight! |
