Any input on "Mamma Mia"

Has anyone heard about the show "Mamma Mia"? My husband and I got tickets to see it in New York in November. The tickets were pretty scarce already in early June so there must be a lot of buzz. We are also going to see The Producers, 42nd Street, and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I can't wait! Thanks!

There are lots of comments on the Europe forum, as a number of people have seen it in London. Seems to be a good response.

I saw Mamma Mia in Chicago & loved it! (However, I am an ABBA fan, so that colors my perspective.) I read where the woman who plays the mother is moving on to the Broadway show--or maybe she already has. It was a lot of fun.

I agree! Mama Mia is a "guilty pleasure"! It borderlines corny (like when in a very serious moment they break into SOS), but they pull it off! It was a very fun evening and I ran home to get out my "ABBA Gold" CD!!

We just saw Mama Mia in London and it was very good. I admit I am from the ABBA age. However, my 7 year old who has ABBA Gold sang through the whole thing also. Even the American girls choir from New York who were in their late sings sang throughout. Its cute, funny and at the end people are dancing in the aisles. But let me tell you, the ticket is the Lion King. The most fabulous production I have ever seen. If you haven't seen it. Get tickets!

My daughter and I loved Mamma Mia in London. You will have a great time. Just be ready to get up and dance at the end.

We've seen Mamma Mia twice in London, it's fabulous!! Very very enjoyable. You cannot leave not feeling happy. Frankly we enjoyed it ten times more then The Lion King. It's one of the happiest shows we've ever seen.

We saw it in Toronto and it was a great show. The female lead that we saw got the broadway role and she is sheer energy. Our daughter who certainly is not of the ABBA generation thought it was one of the best musicals she has seen. Enjoy!!!

We saw it in L.A. and few months ago and loved it! I liked them but wasn't a huge ABBA fan (my husband was, I think it was the blondes) and I was amazed at the audience participation. The way the songs were weaved into the story line was so much fun! Go see it!
