Any info on Georgetown, Maine

We are looking at some property in Georgetown and though we love maine and go there as often as we can, we have yet to visit Georgetown. can anyone tell me anything about it? Is there any type of a town there? I know it is close to Reid State Park. Thanks in advance!

I think the year-round population is around 2000.....with summer rentals accounting for a quadrupling of the traffic in summertime. Reid State Park is one of the most popular in Maine and sometimes "full to capacity" on weekends in the summer with cars turned away.

Lovely spot. I never noticed much of a 'town'. Bath is just up the road.

I know we drove thru it on our way to eat lobster at Five Islands. It's a pleasant area. We very much enjoyed Bath's Sprit Days/4th of July. Wish we had spent more time in Brunswick, great farmers' market on Fridays. I think you would have the joys of rural living but be close to a college town (Brunswick). Keep in mind, I'm used to a half hour drive to the grocery store.

Thanks everyone, good advice. Does anyone know what the property values have been doing lately in that area?
