Any good, lively eat/drink establishments near O'Hare
 

Will be spending one night there (about 20 of us) at the end of the month and need a good place where we can meet up before our flight the next day. Could be a pub.

To the top. I could really use your help. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Mary, I would suggest the Hyatt which is just off the Kennedy at River Road (pink building) they have a nice bar/restaurant there. <BR> <BR>Another option is the hotel which is right in the airport so you can meet up there and then take off to your plane. There is a bar/restaurant there as well. <BR>

Thanks you for the advice but I should clarify my post. We are staying at the Doubletree Suites North - Glenview. We're looking for a place with good food/drinks, perhaps a nice pub where we can all meet. We have to go back to the Doubletree afterwards to get a quick rest before we leave for O'Hare early the next morning. I'm sorry my post was somewhat unclear. Should I assume the Hyatt is still a good place to go? Will we break the bank there?

Mary, you might call the hotel and ask for a suggestion right in that area, that is a bit outside of Chicago but a very nice area. There should be several good choices recommended. <BR> <BR>The Hyatt is going to be a bit of a hike if you are staying at the Doubletree and then leaving the next morning. <BR> <BR>Have a good trip.

You could try Glenview House at 1843 Glenview Rd.

There are several Hackney's restaurants around Glenview which are pub style restaurants-burgers, sandwiches, etc. A friend of mine had her post wedding lunch there so I know they have rooms you can reserve for large parties. There's one at 241 S. Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling which is probably the easiest and closest to the Doubletree in Glenview. <BR> <BR>There's also some other good restaurants up in that area depending on how much you want to spend. Bob Chinn's crabhouse is also on Milwaukee in Wheeling but the price tag will be much higher than Hackney's and you'll probably end up waiting even if you have reservations (esp if Friday or Sat night). There's also Weber Grill on Milwaukee for steaks and ribs but once again, more expensive than Hackney's. There's a cajun place on Milwaukee, Crawdaddy Bayou, but I haven't tried it. <BR>

crawdaddy's has pretty good food and a decent sized bar area. A little further up on Milwaukee, just past Lake-Cook Road is Bar Louie. I've only gone there for lunch though - so I don't know what it's like in the evening. Even further north on Milwaukee if Flatlanders - a brewpub.
