Any good French and Italian restaurants in downtown Atlanta?

Hi. My husband and I will be in Atlanta next weekend for a friend's wedding. We'd like to go out to dinner the day we arrive (Friday 4/28) to either a nice French restaurant (1st choice) or Italian restaurant (2nd choice). Our background: We're in our mid-30s who truly enjoy good quality food (I love a good filet mignon and my husband has a thing for a great lasagna). We're leaving a 4-year-old home with his grandparents so we're looking forward to not only eat entrees, but appetizers and desserts as well, if you know what I mean! The restaurant can be upscale but we'd prefer more of a casual chic if that makes sense. We don't want a loud place but are looking for more of a romantic place. We'll be staying in downtown Atlanta and will have a rental car. Any place you love and would suggest? Or do you know any websites with a list of Atlanta restaurants with reviews? Thank you.

I think you would really like Babette's Cafe. We have been there many times and have never been disappointed. It is near the Carter Center and quite easy to get to. Check out their website: babettescafe.com. Have a great weekend!

Wonderful suggestion. Babette's was our favorite restaurant when we lived in Atlanta. Their filet was fantastic - a really high quality piece of meat (and a reasonable price). And I rarely order beef. Boy I miss that place.
