I've just adopted a new puppy. I would like to travel w/her over the years, what good books would you recommend that would give me info. on which places allow dogs?

AAA is a good place to start. Their Tour books include information about pets in their lodgings section. AAA also puts out special books - which may cost a few bucks - that specifically list which hotels/motels take dogs.

The web is a great resource as well. I can't recommend any specific websites but if you do a little searching then you'll come up with something.


Finally, there are many guidebooks for local regions that mention which lodgings are pet friendly. For example, there is a book called (something like) "Doing California with your pooch." It is a really good book if your plans take you to California.

I am a very frequent business traveler and I see dogs often at Residence Inns, which is a Marriott property.

Guide identifies the places that allow pets. (I use it to stay away from noisy
pets and it works just fine!)
