I'm traveling for work, so thankfully, I haven't been on Kauai since the storms. A neighbor emailed to say that our complex in Princeville (which, as sf7307 said is on top of a cliff) had no damage. We were without water and power, but they have been restored.
The damage nearby looks horrendous. From what I'm seeing on the local newspapers' websites and the county's website, it looks like it will be a very long time before all the roads are cleared and repaired. The hardest hit areas seem to be Hanalei and everywhere north of there. Apparently the road next to the Hanalei Pier (Black Pot Beach) is gone and the tap water is not safe to drink there and the areas north (Haena and Wainiha).
I will return Tuesday and will report.
FYI, for several months there was a computer glitch and I could not respond to anything on this site. I spent a month in Europe, was busy when I returned, and got out of the habit! ;-)
