Any Colorado skiers out there??

Looking for restaurant suggestions in the Breckenridge area. Anyone?

Victoria, There are so many really good restaurants in Summit County that you will have a big choice. I can't specifically speak to Breckenridge (I live in Keystone) but I'm sure when you get there you'll be able to select more than enough to keep you busy for a week.

If you feel like driving my way; the number one Zagat rated restaurant in Colorado is the Keystone Ranch. The Alpen Stube, at 11,666 feet is number seven. Both are in Keystone. My personal favorite is the Ski Tip Lodge. For great casual dining in Dillon, Pug Ryan's is good and lively. I really like Mexico, in Dillan. It's pricey Mexican but very unique. I'm sure you'll get more responses next week.

Hey Grasshopper, why do you like Ski Tip Lodge over Keystone Ranch? I have been cruising the Keystone website to find one "fancy" dinner for Christmas Week at Keystone. All three that you mention look good.

I've yet to try the ranch. I guess I balk at the price. When I went to the Alpen Stube I had a two for one coupon which made it feel more reasonable. The Ski Tip is right in my neighborhood and I've had so many great experiences there I just keep going back.

While you are in Keystone, I also recommend you try the Snake River Saloon. Much more casual but very good food. Take your family to the Fondue restaurant for a great family outing. And the sleighride dinner is also a lot of fun.

Your gonna love this reply. My sone and did Breck last year and had some nice meals - I just can't remember the names of the places. One was a small pizza spot in the middle on town on a corner. Very popular. Another was a jamaican spot with good spicy dishes and the third was sushi. While I don't know the names, based on cuisine they should be easy to find. Breck has a number of good eats.

Agree with Grasshopper, Ski Tip over the Ranch. Ski Tip is very, very small. Great food, great staff. The fondue is fun you take the Gondola to the top of the mountain.

Grasshopper I have never had a good meal at the "Snake" save a burger in the bar.

In Breck Cafe Alpine. At both Cafe Alpine and Ski Tip you will need reservations. Again though of all the resturants in Summit County, Ski Tip is my fovorite!

PS I have eaten at both the Ranch and Ski Tip. Ski Tip many times. The Ranch is "fancier". We had Christmas dinner there 2 years ago. People were very dressed up. When we have been to Ski Tip it has been pretty casual dress. So if you want a dress up dinner you might like the Ranch. Food is very good there too. It was just a bit to stuffy for me.

Thanks Grasshopper and Coskier for your suggestions. I have ressies at Ski Tip, Keystone Ranch, and Der Fondue Chessel for Christmas Week. Coskier, I'm not going to Keystone Ranch for Christmas Eve. Are we okay in sweaters and jeans?

Cafe Alpine is our favorite.
