Any Broadway (or off that's good) on tonight?

Just thought Howard or someone else might know whether anything's on tonight (being Monday). Thanks

You have a choice of four:
*Chicago (my first choice)
*Phantom of the Opera
*Rent
*The Good Body (a new play by Eve Ensler, who wrote The Vagina Monologues)
And, you can probably get tickets for all four at TKTS!
Off-Broadway:
*Forbidden Broadway
*I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change
They are also probably available at TKTS.

You're a doll. Have you seen the Good Body? Did you and/or Mrs. Howard like it?

HowardR Nov 8th, 2004 12:35 PM

Sorry, mclaurie, but "Mrs. Howard" and I haven't seen the The Good Body....and don't know anyone who has! And, since it's still in previews, there are no reviews available.

I saw it and I didn't like it. I thought it was rather dry, and all over the place. I also wasn't crazy about Eve Ensler. Saw V Monologues, but not with her--and I really enjoyed that. Good Body is not one that I would personally recommend.

Sin-A Cardinal Deposed is a like a Docu-play. Extremely interesting little bit that follows the depositions of Cardinal Law. No humor whatsoever, but I enjoyed the acting very much. John Cullom (sp?) is amazing.

I missed Howard's last post and bugswife's. In the end, I didn't go to the theater.

Bugswife, have you taken your trip? Started your new job? Thanks again both.

WICKED and Ave Q are 2 of the best shows on Broadway right now. I have seen both and they are awesome. Keep in mind, Ave Q is not appropriate for children. Monday is usually dark (no shows) You can check out the magazine "Time Out' it has lots of listings of everything going onin the city on a weekly basis.

Hi Mclaurie! Thanks for asking. Started the new job early and did not get to go away. It's alright though. I am thoroughly enjoying the new job as it revolves around theater and independent film. So, that is like a vacation in and of itself. They are sending me to LA to visit home office in december, so I will get a small break in the warm weather. Will make up for all of this by planning a trip to europe for either june or september. my heart is set on Sardinia and Sicily, but everytime I read the Europe board I change my mind.

Saw Dame Edna last night. I wasn't really a fan, this was a work thing, but it was hilarious. Later Possums!

Bugs Wfe-- I just got tickets for Dame Edna in early December. Glad to hear you enjoyed ths show!

So glad you liked Dame Edna, bugswife. I think (s)he's hilarious. My favorite was his hosting the Queen's Jubilee (televized on PBS). When he said, "...and here she is, the jubilee girl..." and out came the Queen and they look so alike =-O I thought I'd split my sides. :-d
