any bad experiences at the hyatt in kauai?

My fiance and I are thinking about staying at the Hyatt in Kauai in early August for our honeymoon. Has anyone had a bad experience there? I've looked on the rant sites and everyone loved it. Just wondering if there's anything we should know before we go.

Having stayed there twice within the past 4 yrs, There really aren't many negatives. The only ones I can think of are:
1) No desk in the guest rms. The rms are very large, and have comfrtable chairs, bur no wrting desk.
2) Some rms can be a far walk to the pool area - although for some, this could be a plus.
3) The beach immediately in front of the hotel is not the best sswimming beach- strong waves. If you are an ocean swimmer, best to take a short drive to the other Poipu beaches
That's really about it. The Hyatt Kauai is about as perfect as a tropical resort can be. Don't look any further and make your reservations now! You'll won't regret it.

That's too bad that it's not a great swimming beach. But I don't think it's a bad thing to have to venture out away from the hotel a bit for that. Plus they look like they've got the best pool on the island. And no sharks! I think that's where we're probably going to go. Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm glad yoou are going with the Hyatt. I have written a more extensive review that is posted on www.epinions.com; here is the link:

You will find other reviews with similar experiences on the site.

Make sure , though, that you take a drive to the North Shore of Kauai, where the Princeville Resort community is. Besides the hotel and the surrounding community, the beaches are very nice, and the views of Bali Hi mountains are wonderful.

And don't forget, Caitlin, the property has a wonderful man-made LAGOON that will satisfy your desire for calm water! Plus the "lazy river" ride and "flume" are great fun as well!

They let my cup of coffee get cold one time in the lagoon restaurant.
The nerve!
