I'm headed to New Orleans next week for five days w/friends. Need a few places to celebrate and haven't been in 10 years. Thanks for asking my question altho I have one more. Is Bella Luna still around? Worth an evening?

My favorite is Commander's Palace. However among those you mentioned I like Arnaud's - they have a "jazz room" you can sit if for a little more $ that give you a great New Orleans experience.

I would NOT recommend Galatoire's. My husband and I went there a few years ago and it was by far the worst meal/experience I've ever had in New Orleans. The food was mediocre, the drinks were bad, and our waiter was ridiculously rude. Unless you are from an old New Orleans family and have connections, don't expect to be treated with any respect at Galatoires.

NOLA is also excellent but not a "classic" like you are looking for - it's much more modern.

Galatoire's. 30 years ago, 20 years ago, and last year. Would like some of those softshell crabs with crabmeat sauce right now!!
