Antique Hunting In The Carolinas?
Any suggested swap meets or areas for hunting antiques near Charleston or Hilton Head, or...? We will also head to North Carolina, Asheville area, but can reroute accordingly. We want bargains, not retail shop prices.

In Asheville I have seen a shop called the Tobacco Barn (I think) mentioned as a fun look. Forget about Charleston and Hilton Head!! If you are near Charlotte on the first week-end of the month there is a fairly good "show" at Metrolina, just north of town. Several buildings and lots of dealers.

Antiquing in Landru, SC, is a treat and a real steal. If you're in the area I'd suggest also staying at the Red Horse Inn.

Anything in Charleston will cost you an arm and a leg. Try to hit the small towns for good antiquing. |
I would 2nd the mention of Landrum, SC - it is right off of I-26 just before you head into NC. Cute downtown with several antiques shops and a couple of decent restaurants. There are lots of places in Asheville - check out the big Antiques Warehouse on River Road.
