Antelope Canyon
Someone posted a site that photographer had of this area in a message about side trips from Vegas, I think -- if you read this and know of the site, please reply.

The site is http://www.photoscene.com/sberlin/

Looks awesome and worth making an effort if ever in the area.

Thanks George.

By the way, is this a place you can get to from Las Vegas (we'll be there for a week). I'm wondering if they have any flights there for the day?

You're reading my mind. We're going to LV in Dec., enroute to the Zion/Bryce area. Got a lot of serious planning to do...and it looks like this will be one more item.

Lois,
Unless you are a serious photographer, the Antelope Canyon tour is quite brief - about 45 minutes. It is a slot canyon, that while certainly impressive and unique, is small, not a canyon in the sense of Bryce or Zion. Unless you're interested in any other activities in Page, I don't think a flight there for the day just to see Antelope Canyon would be economically practical.

Tommy,
Thanks for the insight. I thought there would be more there (kind of like Monument Valley). We love spectacular scenery and have been to Bryce & Zion on other trips as well as Valley of Fire. Any other suggestions -- we are considering Death Valley, but wondered if there was anything else. We'll be there March 15 for a week. Thanks for all the tips. Lois
I'm the Antelope Canyon nut :-)

I planned our trip to go from Las Vegas, Flagstaff, Cameron, Page, Zion, Las Vegas so Antelope Canyon was on the way. It would be many hours if you just wanted to drive there from Las Vegas. Thanks to "Tommy" for pointing out they leave you in the canyon for only an hour but the best light occurs from 11:00 to 1:00 so many people would want to stay too long. I would estimate the canyon is between 50 and 75 yards long so it easy to manage in the hour alotted.

Mike Honeycutt

There is upper and lower canyons, one is much longer than the other.
As far as going there from Vegas, can't see it happening. Long drives with an overnight just for an hour.
It is impressive, but not practical to go out of your way for an hour.
