Another interesting post deleted!

There was a post not more than a couple of hours ago by "James" with his trip report on a weekend visit to NYC, specifically Queens where he apparently chose to explore the more "off the beaten track" of NYC. I read it quickly because I was leaving with the hopes of coming back later to read more leisurely and perhaps pose a few questions. It appears that it has been deleted by Fodors and I have to wonder why. It just boggles my mind when Fodors chooses to wipe out posts that actually address interesting topics and chooses to leave the downright crass, less than helpful ones that do not even address travel topics for weeks/months on end. I just don't get it!

Before you jump on fodors, learn to search the site. The post is still here and is still in the 1-50 grouping as I type this!

I see it right down at the bottom of the list. Just keep scrolling....I highly doubt anyone at Fodor's is interested in deleting posts at 9 pm.

Thank you for that. I was about to lose faith in Fodors which would not have been a good thing.

I noticed the same thing as you :-) I think what happens is that a post which is just posted does not appear on the "search" option immediately. If it drops off the front page, you won't see it there or be able to find it by "searching" for it. It seems that a couple of hours later, it gets added to the search. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but that's what my experience seems to indicate.

Yes, I agree with James, though sometimes it takes days before it can be searched for (it seems to be better recently). The search for a state works immediately though.
