Annual Concert for Peace New Year's Eve in NYC
I post this each year, for visitors and anyone interested in a lovely evening on New Year's Eve.
The concert is held at St. John the Divine 110th and Amsterdam and the concert is FREE and always a full house.
The concert starts at 7pm and we are usually out by 9 so you can continue on with your celebrations.
Tickts in the front rows are reserved and available at the St. John's website. www.stjohnthedivine.com.
The host for the event is Harry Smith from CBS's Early Morning show, he is wonderful to do this each year. THe GUEST performer this year is Lauren Flannigan. Don't know what she is singing yet, but she is always wonderful.
I'm in the soprano section of the chorus so if you are interested in the concert come and say HI (I'm the only redhead).
Happy HOLIDAYS!!!!!

Anyone else interested in tickets. As a part of the chorus we get "friends and family" tickets, and a couple of years ago, I was thrilled to have a few Fodorites come to the concert. We met up at the door and everyone said they had a great time.
Please let me know if anyone is interested.

Would love to go but am not in Manhattan for that weekend.
But I have heard wonderful things about it from everyone I know who has been. And what year better than this - when we need to focus so much on finding peace - not promoting war.

wantsomesun..it sounds so lovely and someday I will be in Manhattan at Christmastime.
Now about the $$ going to New Orleans..we think the same! While travelling in Montreal someone remarked at breakfast one am at our B&B that the SuperDome had reopened to the tune of $1.8 million. It was reassuring most of the guests gasped and replied"imagine what the ninth ward could have done with $1.8 million.
Our goddaughter was just in NO over TDay break to work with Common Ground. SHe said it was appalling the state of things still.
