Anniversary meal in Orlando

Hi there
My husband and I will be in Orlando in March (we live in the UK) and will be celebrating our 24th Wedding Anniversary when on holiday. I'm doing some investigation as to where to go for a meal to celebrate. We enjoy any sort of food, but especially Italian. We'd like a reasonably grown up place but nothing too starchy and formal! Nice if it was a bit romantic too! I like the sound of the Portobello Yacht Club but would really appreciate thoughts as to whether this suits my requirements. Other suggestions would be very welcome too!
Many thanks.

There is an Italian restaurant at the Swan Hotel at Disney World. It is called Palio. We ate there and loved the food and atmosphere.

There are several Macaroni Grilles in Orlando. The atmosphere is a bit loud as they are built in the style of a warehouse, but the food is great and the kitchen is open so you can see them cooking. We took some British friends ther and they loved it. Dress is casual.

some restaurants on the Boardwalk (right across the lake from the Yacht Club) are nice - Spoodles is one - and the atmosphere is lovely but not to fancy. a walk on the boardwalk around the lake afterwards is nice too. Wolfgang Puck in Downtown Disney is really great, I've always had wonderful food there. If you're in the parks, the restaurant in Italy in Epcot is fabulous, and if you can stay to watch the fireworks.

Morgana, take a look at the restaurants at Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal - all are Italian with varying degrees of informality. ONe of them might be a good fit.

California Grille on top of the Contemporary Hotel in Disney World is a wonderful gourmet restaurant that we look forward to going to whenever we are in FL...just make your reservation sort of 9 o'clock-ish to avoid most families who take kids there. (It is definitely an adult environment and the only reason anyone takes kids is b/c they are on vacation at Disney, IMO) Believe me, it is both super sopisticated and casually relaxed simultaneously!! You cannot go wrong there if you want a memorable meal and ambiance!!

If you have a car and don't mind a drive, try Manuel's on the 28th in downtown Orlando. The food is great and the view is too.

Or for a fun, less formal dinner, how about Bergamo's on International Drive. The food is Italian and the wait-staff sings. Lots of fun and good food to boot.

Junko at Animal Kingdom Lodge is wonderful (I might have that spelled wrong -- the restaurant at the lodge).
