You betcha!!

The first time I saw it I thought it was an old-fashioned drive-in restaurant where they brought your food to the car and, yes we do like their burgers.

I actually love most everything about this area, especially the barrier islands.

It's a great place. I left for college in 1973 and went as far away as I was allowed to go - B'ton was pretty small town back then and I wanted to be me, not my grandparents' granddaughter, or my parents' daughter, or my siblings' sister. Twenty years and three kids later I was SO happy to get home again with my parents, sister/hubby, brother/wife/family, aunt, cousin/family, and now my in-laws are here. Our oldest boy looks like he might stay, but our middle one is looking at colleges in NC and the Midwest and can't wait to get out....

elisequinn -- I realize this was a year ago, but I wondered where you ended up staying, and whether you enjoyed your stay on AMI.

I am looking to come to AMI and wondered if you could suggest a location. I see there are 3 beaches: anna maria beach (north on AMI), holmes beach (central AMI), and bradenton beach (south AMI). Just curious what are the pros and cons of these? It is just my husband and i so we like a quiet beach that is good to walk and swim, but also is close to restaurants and shopping. Thanks
