Anna Maria island

would you recommend Anna Maria I’m may? We have 3 kids 12,10 and 8. Originally we were going to do a split trip between Orlando and a beach, but the beaches that are close by I’m not interested in so now thinking just a beach vacation.

Anna Maria is pretty quiet, which may be exactly what you want, but if the older kids tire easily of the beach, a more active location such as St Pete Beach or Clearwater Beach might be more to everyone’s liking? My own kids were fine with beach and water, no need for anything more, but not all are.

If you're looking for a day trip away from the beach, we took our kids to Busch Gardens in Tampa (about 1 hr. or so from Anna Maria Island). Watch for specials on tickets, dining. We had a deal through AAA when we were there -- free lunch with admission! (Yea, I didn't have pay extra to feed always hungry boys.)

Thank you - that's what I was wondering. They love maybe 4 days at the beach but could use some activities after that. St. Pete's Tradewinds was my second choice so maybe we'll go there instead!
