Ann Arbor Michigan restaurant question

Hi fellow Michiganders, I'm taking a group of 20 adults to Hill Auditorium for Handel's Messiah and am trying to find a good restaurant within walking distance that's not too pricey (some are on limited incomes). We will be dressed up, so it can't be a burger joint. I was looking at the menu for Mercy's but it might be a tad more high end than I am looking for. Any suggestions?

The Red Hawk Bar & Grill is .8 mile away. Depending on the night of the week, you might call them to reserve a table for 20. Their phone number is (734)994-4004. Most of the other restaurants in walking distance are inexpensive, fast food types. There are a great many excellent restaurants on Main Street or Liberty, but they are a longer walk.

You could try Sava http://www.yelp.com/biz/savas-ann-arbor.
It is on State and has a varied, moderatley priced menu. Something for everyone.

Otherwise, I think you will have to go to Main St.

Hi Maggi!
I'll actually be ushering at one of the performances of the Messiah. I'd recommend the original Cottage Inn restaurant. It's not far at all, and for a party your size, if you'd like to be in a private room, they can reserve one for you.

Although this place is known for their pizzas, that's by far not all they have on their menu. They have grilled chicken and steak dishes, pastas, and salads that are delicious. (They serve lunches and full dinners.) Prices are definitely reasonable, and the menu offers something for everyone, no matter what their tastes and dietary preferences might be.

I read my alma mater's online newspaper almost every day, and was chagrined to see that Sava was cited recently for code violations:

Hope you and your group enjoy the performance as well as your meal!

Wow, thanks for that heads up, bookchick. I have tentatively reserved Zingerman's Roadhouse, even though it is not within walking distance. But I know it will be noisy and the idea of a private room is appealing. I will check out Cottage Inn right now. Appreciate your advice! Maybe we'll run into each other without knowing it, haha.
