OK, so I've got the telemarker problem solved. But I've still got this dreadful cold. I'm flying to PEI tomorrow. Last time SO flew with a cold, his ears hurt him for days after.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this? Would earplugs help? Make it worse? Any other suggestions?

Try "Earplanes", a new earplug that helps with equalizing the inner ear pressure, and all that other technical ear stuff.

I second Earplanes. I've purchased them for my kids for years and it does the trick. Follow the directions on the package label. Best bet to find them is a full service pharmacy, like Walgreens, etc.

Also, try an oral and a nasal decongestant (not an antihistamine.
